RT-TelSurg: Real Time Telesurgery Using SDN, Fog, and Cloud as Infrastructures

This paper proposes a novel and efficient real time network architecture, named RT-TelSurg, for one of the most appealing tactile Internet applications, i.e., Telesurgery. In telesurgery, patient's vital signs status required robotic commands during surgery should be received on time. Otherwise, life patient or safety operation is endangered. Hence, transmitted packets meet their respective relative deadlines. Software-defined networking relatively new architecture computer telecommunications networks in which control plane separated from data plane. One way to achieve telesurgery employ cloud fog using SDN as infrastructure. By controller core edge master (physician) side, may satisfy acceptable level timing constraints telesurgery. Accordingly, based presented we develop statistical performance model our proposed approach, RT-TelSurg. queuing theory designed critical non-critical states network. Based these states, resources are allocated both modes, computational bottleneck detected. RT-TelSurg evaluated according efficiency parameters. The results show that average deadline hit ratio 98.2% different conditions, quite applications.
